No Person Should Be Without Safe Drinking Water.
Today there are more than 748 million people around the world that still
lack access to clean water. That is 1 in 9 people who do not have access to
water that is safe to use for drinking, cooking, cleaning and other sanitation
needs. Each day across the world, more than 6,000 people will die from
use of unsafe drinking water. Left with no alternative, people consume
contaminated water that contains a range of bacteria, viral and parasitic
organisms and can contract severe, life-threatening intestinal diseases such
as cholera and dysentery. Clean water is essential to support life.

Getting access to clean water is still a significant challenge in developing
countries, as well as during emergency situations for the rest of the world.
People lack both the water education and ability to become self-sufficient.
